Hymns

Great is your name Lord,
It's majesty fills the earth.

Your majesty is praised above the heavens;
On lips of children and of babes.
You have found praise to foil your enemy.
To silence the foe and the rebel.

When I see the heavens, the work of your hands,
The moon and the stars, which you arranged,
What is man that you keep him in mind,
Mortal man that you care for him?

Yet you have made him little less than a god,
With glory and honour you crowned him.
Gave him power over the works of your hand,
Put all things under his feet.

Give glory to the Father almighty,
To his Son, Jesus Christ, the Lord,
To the Spirit who dwells in our hearts,
Both now and for ever. Amen.

Great Saint Joseph! Son of David,
Foster father of our Lord,
Spouse of Mary ever Virgin,
Keeping o'er them watch and ward!
In the stable thou didst guard them
With a father's loving care;
Thou by God's command didst save them
From the cruel Herod's snare.

Three long days in grief and anguish,
With His Mother sweet and mild,
Mary Virgin, didst thou wander
Seeking the beloved Child.
In the temple thou didst find Him:
Oh! What joy then filled thy heart!
In thy sorrows, in thy gladness
Grant us, Joseph, to have a part.

Clasped in Jesus' arms and Mary's,
When death gently came at last,
Thy pure spirit sweetly sighing
From its earthly dwelling passed.
Dear Saint Joseph! By that passing
May our death be like to thine;
And with Jesus, Mary, Joseph,
May our souls forever shine.

Greater Love and Friendship has no man than this
That he die for others, give his life for all.
No more are you servants; I have called you friends,
All my Father told me, I made known to you

Without you I am nothing, my weakness needs your strength,
So speak, Lord, to your servants, I’m waiting for your word

Go and build my kingdom, pluck up and break down,
Speak what I command you; I shall be with you,
No you did not choose me , I appointed you.
Go bear fruit in plenty, fruit that should abide.

Have you seen my people, have you heard their cry?
Do you know their suffering? Can you let them die?
Break the unjust fetter, set the captive free,
Share bread with the hungry, make the blind to see.

Happy are the poor in spirit:
They are children of the kingdom.
Blessed the pure of heart for they shall see
The glory of the Lord.
Happy those who mourn in sorrow:
For the Lord will send them comfort.
Blessed those who thirst for holiness
For they shall drink and have their fill.

Rejoice, rejoice and be gladsome.
Exult, exult leap for joy.
Your reward is great in heaven:
Be gladsome and rejoice!

Happy are the meek and humble:
Yes, the earth they will inherit.
Blest the merciful for God will grant
His mercy to them all.
Happy, happy the peacemakers:
For they live as God's own children.
Blessed those who work for justice:
The kingdom of heaven is theirs.

Happy the heart that lives in the heart
Of God, the heart of love,
Happy the heart that learns to love
With the love of God.

God is love; Love your God
With the love he gave in Christ.

God loved us first, loved us best in Christ
For there is no greater love.

We must love, love everyone
With this love that comes from God.

Love brings peace, peace brings hope.
And hope never disappoints.

Spirit of Love, live in us,
That our joy may be complete.

Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Thou art the potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after thy will,
while I am waiting, yielded and still.

Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Search me and try me, Savior today!
Wash me just now, Lord, wash me just now,
as in thy presence humbly I bow.

Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me I pray!
Power, all power, surely is thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine!

Have thine own way, Lord! Have thine own way!
Hold o'er my being absolute sway.
Fill with thy Spirit till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me!

1. I, the Lord of the sea and sky,
I have heard my people cry
All who dwell in dark and sin
My hand will save.
I who have made the stars of the night,
I will make their darkness bright
Who will bear my light to them?
Whom shall I send?

Here I am, Lord. Is it I Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

2. I the Lord of the snow and rain,
I have born my people’ pain
I have wept for love of them.
They turn away.
I will break their heart’s of stone,
Give them hearts for love alone
I will speak my word to them.
Whom shall I send?

Here I am, Lord. Is it I Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.

3. I, the Lord of wind and flame,
I will tend the poor and lame,
I will set a feast for them.
My hand will save.
Finest bread I will provide
Till their hearts be satisfied
I will give my life to them
Whom shall I send?

Here I am, Lord. Is it I Lord?
I have heard you calling in the night.
I will go Lord, if you lead me.
I will hold your people in my heart.
How lovely is Your dwelling place, O Lord!
What peace and joy to feel so close to You!
Our heart and soul ring out their joy this morning / evening,
We long to meet You, God, the living God.

The sparrow even here has found a shelter,
The shallow by Your altars builds a nest.
O happy those whose dwelling is Your temple,
Who day by day Your praises sing, O Lord.

One day within Your courts indeed is better
Than thousand days elsewhere afar from You.
To wait upon the threshold of Your temple
Is better than to waste our life in vain.

O Lord, You are our strength and our protection.
Your favour and Your glory, grant us now.
Refuse not any good to those who love You,
The people that is Yours for evermore.

Humbly we adore thee, Christ, Redeemer, King;
Thou art Lord of heaven, thou to whom we sing.
God, the Mighty, thou has come, bearing gifts of grace;
Son of Adam still thou art: Savior to our race.

Jesus, Lord, we thank thee for this wondrous bread;
In our land thou dwellest, by thee we are fed.
We who share this mystery in thee are made one;
Ev’ry act we offer thee in thy name is done.

Thou who died to save us livest as our light;
Though our eyes are blinded, yet our faith gives sight.
Christ, do thou be merciful, Lamb for sinners slain,
We in grief confess our guilt; cleanse our souls of stain.

Christ, our God and brother, hear our humble plea;
By this holy banquet keep us joined to thee.
Make us one in loving thee, one in mind and heart,
Till in heaven we are thine, never more to part.

Hail, thou Word Incarnate, born from Mary’s womb;
Hail, thou Strength immortal, risen from the tomb.
Share with us thy victory, Savior ever blest:
Live more fully in our hearts; be our constant quest.

Faith alone reveals here bread of Paradise;
Faith alone may witness Jesus’ sacrifice.
Therefore, Lord, as once of old Thomas gained his sight,
Now increase our feeble faith; shed thy healing light.

Christ, at his last supper, breaking bread, decreed:
“This, my Body, take and eat;” heav’nly food indeed!
Then he blessed the cup of wine; “Take ye this,” he said:
“Drink the chalice of my Blood, soon for sinners shed.”

Now with glad thanksgiving, praise Christ glorified;
He in us is present; we in him abide.
Members of his body, we in him are one;
Hail this sacred union, heav’n on earth begun!

I am the bread of life.
He who comes to me shall not hunger;
he who believes in me shall not thirst.
No one can come to me
unless the Father draw him.

And I will raise him up,
and I will raise him up,
and I will raise him up on the last day.

The bread that I will give
is my flesh for the life of the world,
and he who eats of this bread,
he shall live for ever,
he shall live for ever.

Unless you eat
of the flesh of the Son of Man
and drink of his blood,
and drink of his blood,
you shall not have life within you.

I am the resurrection,
I am the life.
He who believes in me
even if he die,
he shall live for ever.

Yes, Lord, I believe
that you are the Christ,
the Son of God,
who has come
into the world.

I am the Light, Bringing you out of darkness,
So come, take my light to the world.
I am the Bread, you must feed to the hungry,
The wine that must fill every heart.

Foxes have holes, birds have their nests
But the Son of Man has no place to rest.
Come follow me be the light of the nations.
Leave your nets and come follow me.

I am the Life that must change ev’ry life
And the Way that must alter your ways.
I am the Truth and my word is the cross
You must take if you want to be free.

I am the Sower, Come work in my vineyard, my field.
Tend my vines, sow the grain,
And should it fall to the ground
It can only spring up, with new life, hundredfold.

I am the shepherd Come into the sheepfold
To help feed my lambs, feed my sheep.
Bring back the straying, and bind up their wounds,
And rejoice when you’ve found what was lost.

I give my hands to do your work
And Jesus Lord I give them willingly
I give my feet to go your way
And every step I shall take carefully

O the joy of the Lord is my strength, my strength
O the joy of the Lord is my help my help
For the power of His Spirit is in my heart
And the joy of the Lord is my strength

I give my eyes, to see the world
And every one in just the way you do
I give my tongue to speak your words
To spread your name and freedom giving, truth

I give my mind in every way
So each though I have will come from you
I give my spirit to your O Lord
And every day my prayer will sing anew

I now no longer live; Christ, my Lord, lives in me.
Christ forever my joy, I must walk in His love.

Christ in my mind, my life, my heart.
Christ to the world with joy I must bring.

Christ on my right, my left, around.
Christ to the world with joy I must bring.

Christ is my way, my peace, my light.
Christ to the world with joy I must bring.

Christ my rock, my shield, my strength.
Christ to the world with joy I must bring.

Christ is my Lord, my God, my all.
Christ to the world with joy I must bring.

If we live, it's for the Lord,
If we die, it's for the Lord,
For Christ rose to be the Lord
Of the living and of the dead.

For I know that my Redeemer lives,
At the end he'll stand upon the earth,
He shall be a witness by my side,
He will come to my defence

Where, O death, where is your victory?
Where, O death, where is your power to hurt?
For the Lord has conquered sin and death,
By his cross we are made free!

We were dead through our own trespasses,
We obeyed the promptings of the world;
But with Christ we have now risen,
By his grace we have been saved.

Do not sleep as children of the night,
Stay awake as children of the day.
For the Lord has risen from the dead:
It is this that we proclaim.

In him we live and move and have our being (x2)

I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Come unto Me, and rest;
Lay down, thou weary one, lay down Thy head upon My breast.”
I came to Jesus as I was, Weary, and worn, and sad;
I found in Him a resting-place, And He has made me glad.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, “Behold, I freely give
The living water: thirsty one, Stoop down, and drink, and live.”
I came to Jesus, and I drank Of that life-giving stream;
My thirst was quenched, my soul revived, And now I live in Him.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, “I am this dark world’s Light;
Look unto Me, thy morn shall rise, And all thy day be bright.”
I looked to Jesus, and I found In Him my Star, my Sun;
And in that Light of life I’ll walk Till trav’lling days are done.

Jesus is the joy of living
He's the king of life to me,
Unto Him my all I'm giving,
His for evermore to be.

I will do what He commands me,
Anywhere he leads I'll go,
Jesus is the joy of living,
He's the dearest friend I know.

Jesus, you are my Salvation,
Jesus, you're my inspiration,
Jesus you're the treasure of my life.

Jesus, you offer new sight to the blind,
Healing the crippled, the deaf and the mute,
Cleansing the leper and banishing ills,
Raising the dead to life.

Jesus, you nurture the hungry with bread,
Stilling the tempest and calming the sea,
Turning life's water to glittering wine,
Shedding your blood for me.

Jesus, my refuge, in you do I trust,
Jesus, my Saviour, in you I rejoice,
Jesus, my way and my truth and my life,
Jesus who sets me free.

Jesus, the wisdom and power of the Lord,
Jesus, our high priest, our Passover Lamb,
Jesus, the brightness and image of God,
Jesus, the King of peace.

Just to fix our eyes on Jesus
Who has fought the good fight to the end;
And to be the grain that’s fallen
To the ground to die and rise again.

This is my sacrifice, an open ear I bring
Here, Lord, I come to do your will,
Here, Lord, I come to do your will.

Just to follow in his footsteps
And to live according to his ways.
Oh! to be the salt to savour;
And the light in darkness all my days.

Just to be like Christ, the sower,
Planting seed that bears a hundredfold,
Oh! to be the Word Incarnate,
Letting life speak out with words untold.

Just to be the bread unleavened,
Breathing out sincerity and truth,
And to be the cup of blessing,
Praising God upon a ten-string lute.

Lead, kindly Light, amid the encircling gloom;
Lead thou me on!
The night is dark, and I am far from home;
Lead thou me on!
Keep thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene--one step enough for me.

I was not ever thus, nor prayed that thou
Shouldst lead me on.
I loved to choose and see my path; but now,
Lead thou me on!
I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will. Remember not past years.

So long thy power hath blest me, sure it still
Will lead me on
O'er moor and fen, o'er crag and torrent, till
The night is gone.
And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile!

Let's go up to God's holy hill
That he may teach us all his ways.
To the house of Jacob's God
That we may trust him all our days.

Everyone beneath the vine and fig tree
Shall live in peace and have no fear.
Everyone beneath the vine and fig tree
Shall live without a fear.

They shall beat their weapons into ploughshares
And turn their spears to pruning hooks.
They shall beat their weapons into ploughshares
Their spears to pruning hooks.

None shall lift their swords against their neighbours
And nations learn of war no more.
None shall lift their swords against their neighbours
And nations war no more.

Out of Zion shall go forth the law
And God's word go from Jerusalem.
He shall judge between the many peoples,
For thus the Lord decreed!

Lord Jesus Christ, to whom shall we go?
You have the message of eternal life.

The law of God is perfect, it revives our inner being
His rule is to be trusted, it gives wisdom to the poor
His precepts all are right, they make the heart delighted
His statues all are clear, they give our eyes new light.

The fear of God is holy, it eternally abides
His precepts and decrees are true and all of them just.
A treasure worth much more than purest gold from Ophir
Yes, sweeter is his law than honey from the comb.

Lord make me like You
Please, make me like You
You are a servant, make me one too.
O Lord won’t You give me Your strength everyday
To build a community, to follow Your way.

Whoever among you desires to be great,
Must be the servant of all.
For even the Son of Man came to serve
And give His life for the world.

You call me your master and Lord so I am
See, I have washed your feet
To set and example for all of you
Of service and of love.

The Spirit anoints me and calls me by name
To bring good news to the poor,
Release to the captives and sight to the blind,
To set the prisoners free.

Lord, we touch You today, Lord, we touch You today
You gave us Your life, You gave us Your love
Lord, we touch You today

Chorus
To live is to die, and to laugh is to cry
To live is to love with all your heart
To live is to walk, and to talk in Your love
And to live, is to sing in Your love

Lord, we give You our heart, Lord, we give You our heart
You gave us Your life, we give You our love
Lord, we give You our heart

Lord, we sing in Your love, Lord we sing in Your love
We share in Your life, we share in Your love
Lord, we sing in Your love

Lord, we’ve touched You today, Lord, we’ve touched You today
You gave us Your death, You gave us Your life
Lord, we’ve touched You today
