Thank You Lord for blessing us so richly,
For sharing with us Your own power to give life.

This is a mystery we will never fathom,
A marvel far beyond all human understanding.

Thank You for bringing us together in love.
Thank You for all that we enjoy in each other.
Thank You, above all, for this new life.

We are left speechless; we feel such a sense of awe,
As we accept this sign of Your trust - this new life,
The fruit of our love, the mysterious reminder that we are more than ourselves.
Thank You, Creator and Lord, our Father, our Mother, our infinitely loving God.

We accept this new life from Your bounty.
We promise to guard it, treasure it, be worthy of Your trust.
We'll look into our hearts and make it new, so as to be the best of parents.

Increase our love, that we may reflect Your love.
Give us health of body and mind, and shelter us from all harm,
that we may give our child all the tender care it needs.

May this period of waiting be free of all dangers,
Untroubled by anguish and full of peace and good health.

Help us to prepare our hearts and our home for our child.

Bless us with Your protection.
We pray for health, safety, and freedom from all dangers,
For all of us and for all expectant mothers and fathers.
Bless us with a peaceful confinement, a safe delivery
and the priceless grace of holding a normal, healthy baby in our arms.
