Hymns

Faith in God can move the mountains,
Trust in Him can calm the sea.
He's my Fortress, He's my stronghold,
He's the rock who rescues me.

Lord, you are my refuge
Never let me be ashamed.
In your justice, rescue me,
Turn to me and hear my prayer.

You are my salvation
From oppression set me free.
Ever since my childhood,
You have been my only hope.

Bitter troubles burden me,
But you fill me with new life.
From the grave you raise me up,
So my tongue will sing your praise.

So he came, the long-expected,
Not in glory, not to reign;
Only born to be rejected,
Choosing hunger, toil and pain,
Till the scaffold was erected
And the Paschal Lamb was slain.

No disgrace was too abhorrent:
Nailed and mocked and parched he died;
Blood and water, double warrant,
Issue from his wounded side,
Washing in a mighty torrent
Earth and stars and ocean-tide.

Lofty timber, smooth your roughness,
Flex your boughs for blossoming;
Let your fibres lose their toughness,
Gently let your tendrils cling;
Lay aside your native gruffness,
Clasp the body of your King!

Noblest tree of all created,
Richly jewelled and embossed:
Post by Lamb's blood consecrated;
Spar that saves the tempest-tossed;
Scaffold-beam which, elevated,
Carries what the world has cost!

Wisdom, power, and adoration
To the blessed Trinity
For redemption and salvation
Through the Paschal Mystery,
Now, in every generation,
And for all eternity. Amen.

Father forgive them, they know not what they do

ch 2: Father forgive us, we know not what we do

They see me lying in the street, yet never lend a hand
The night goes by while they're asleep, yet I'm still in the sand
And I cry each night for their blinded eyes
That never, never seem to see.
Chorus

They call me friend when they're in need, I know it's all a sham.
For when my sufferings make me weep, they simply wash their hands,
And I'm left alone in despair to moan;
They'll never, never understand.
Chorus

We crucified your son in shame, his message we ignored,
Though time has passed, we're still the same, indifferent as before,
And he dies each day in our hearts of clay
O father, teach us how to love.
Chorus

Father so loving, Magnificent God,
Generous giver, beneficent Lord!

You fill up our hearts, you fill up our minds,
You fill up our dreams, you fill up our lives.

You give us your love, in giving the earth;
In giving your blood, you give us rebirth.

You call us your children, you call us your friends;
We call you our joy, we call you our strength.

Father take the gifts we bring
Listen to the prayer we sing
Sanctify our sacrifice from heavens above

Draw us close to you we pray by the bread we give this day
May we live by this great mystery of love.

Take this bread and take this wine offered here, O Lord divine
Take our heart and make them yours O Lord we pray.

Make our faith and hope increase, let our charity bring peace
So that we may spread your love along the way.

Father, we love You
We worship and adore You
Glorify Your name in all the earth
Glorify Your name
Glorify Your name
Glorify Your name in all the earth

Jesus...

Spirit...

Father, into your hands, I commend my soul.

You are my refuge, 0 Lord, leave me not confounded
And in your justice 0 Lord, free me and redeem me.

I am the scorn of my foes, horror to my neighbours.
Even my friends in the street, run away and leave me.

See, like a dead man am I, slighted and forgotten;
And like a thing thrown away, like a broken vessel.

But I will trust in you, Lord, say, "You are my Saviour".
I place my life in your hands, free me from oppression.

O let your light shine on me, save me in your great love.
All you who hope in the Lord, let your heart take courage.

Father, we adore you lay our lives before you
How we love you

Jesus...

Spirit...

Follow me, follow me,
Leave your home and family,
Leave your fishing nets and boats upon the shore.
Leave the seed that you have sown,
Leave the crops that you have grown,
Leave the people you have known and follow me.

The foxes have their holes,
And the swallows have their nests,
But the son of man has no place to lay down.
I do not offer comfort,
I do not offer wealth,
But in me will all happiness be found.

If you would follow me,
You must leave old ways behind.
You must take my cross and follow on my path.
You may be far from loved ones,
You may be far from home,
But my father will welcome you at last.

Although I go away
You will never be alone.
For the spirit will be there to comfort you.
Though all of you may scatter,
Each follow his own path,
Still the spirit of love will lead you home.

For all the saints, who from their labours rest;
who to the world by faith their Lord confessed,
your name, O Jesus, be for ever blessed:
Alleluia, alleluia!

You were their rock, their fortress, and their might;
you, Lord, their captain in the well-fought fight,
and in the darkness their unfailing light.
Alleluia, alleluia!

For God so loved the world,
That He gave us his only Son.
Whoever trusts in Him,
Shall obtain eternal life.

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
All your mind, all your strength.
You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart,
You shall love your neighbour as yourself.

Tis by grace you have been saved through faith in Christ,
Not by works, lest you boast.
Even when your trespasses had rendered you dead,
You were made alive in Jesus Christ.

As the Lord has pardoned you, so must you forgive:
Let his peace rule your heart,
He has nailed your trespasses and sins to the cross.
So give thanks to God through Jesus Christ.

And I pray that Jesus Christ may dwell in your hearts,
Through your faith, through your love.
May his Spirit strengthen you with power and might.
May your lives be rooted in love.

Coda:
Whoever trusts in Him,
Shall obtain eternal life.

For unto us a Child is born.
Yes, unto us a Son is given.

God with us, revealed in us,
His name shall be Emmanuel.

He shall be called the Counsellor,
The mighty God, the Prince of peace.

With righteousness, He'll rule the world,
His government will have no end.

From the depths I call to You, O Lord,
Listen to my cry

Lord, in compassion, listen to my pleading,
Listen to my cry,
If You refuse, Lord, to forgive your people's sins,
We shall surely die.

So I am waiting, waiting for Him patiently,
Hoping in His word,
More than the watchman waiting for the dawn to come
I await the Lord.

So let us trust him, for in Him is mercy;
He the Lord, is kind.
He gives us pardon, generous redemption,
Casts our sins behind.

From the wells of salvation,
With joy you will draw water.

Truly God is my salvation
I trust I shall not fear.
For the Lord is my strength, my song
He became my savior.

O give thanks to the Lord,
Give praise to his name!
Make his mighty deeds known to the people,
Declare the greatness of his name.

Sing a psalm to the Lord
For he has done glorious deeds.
People of Zion, sing and shout for joy:
Great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.
