Hymns

The mass is ended, all go in peace,
We must diminish and Christ increase,
We take him with us, Where’er we go,
That through our actions his life may show.

We witness his love to every one,
By our communion with Christ the Son,
We take the Mass to where one may be,
So Christ may shine forth for all to see.

Thanks to the Father who shows the way,
His life within us throughout each day,
Let all our living and loving be,
To praise and honour the Trinity.

The more we hear of the Word of God,
The better we will know Him.

Open our minds and our hearts, O Lord,
Send us your Spirit anew.
Open our minds and our hearts, O Father,
We want to learn more about you.

The more we hear of the Word of God,
The better we will love Him.

The more we hear of the Word of God,
The better we will serve Him.

The people of God who had fled
From the tyrant's cruel command,
By God had been faithfully led,
Safe across the dry, arid sand,
With eyes that were constantly turned
To the distant land of God's Word
The land for which every tribe yearned,
Where no cry of pain would be heard.

We come land of our hope
Though hard be the journey and long
We come land of our hope,
We know that to you we belong
We come land of our hope,
Our hearts over flowing with song
We come land of our hope, we come!

Weighed down by the sorrows of earth,
See the nations look for the light,
A thirst for the joys of true worth,
For unending peace and delight,
O where is the land that can fill
The desires that burn in the heart?
The true Church of God is the home
That alone this joy can impart.

Released from the bondage of sin,
We now freely join in the march,
Our Saviour shall help us to win
What has been the goal of our search.
Our home is God's heaven above
To which every soul he will send
If honest in faith and in love,
We have followed Christ to the end.

The Savior is waiting to enter your heart
Why don’t you let Him come in?
There’s nothing in this world to keep you apart
What is your answer to Him?

Time after time He has waited before
And now He is waiting again
To see if you’re willing to open the door
Oh, how He wants to come in

If you’ll take one step toward the Savior, my friend
You’ll find His arms open wide
Receive Him, and all of your darkness will end
Within your heart He’ll abide

The spotless Robe of Christ was mine
The day I was baptised.
The spotless Robe of Christ was mine
The day I was baptised.

And at his feet I took the place
Of those who his call had despised
The spotless Robe of Christ was mine
The day I was baptised.

His loving hand was placed on em
And he did call me friend
The spotless Robe of Christ was mine
The day I was baptised.

And claiming me as his own child
Did royal favours extend
The spotless Robe of Christ was mine
The day I was baptised.

The light of Christ now shines through me
His Paschal joy on my brow
The spotless Robe of Christ was mine
The day I was baptised.

With lamp alight the bridegroom shall find
Me always awaiting Him now
The spotless Robe of Christ was mine
The day I was baptised.

What joy to be in Paradise
And share God’s heavenly bliss!
The spotless Robe of Christ was mine
The day I was baptised.

And we ourselves shall godlike be
Our faces resplendent like his.
The spotless Robe of Christ was mine
The day I was baptised.

Chorus:
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases.
Your mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning,
new every morning:
great is your faithfulness, O Lord,
great is your faithfulness!

You, Lord, is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul that seeks him;
it is good that we should wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.
Chorus

So let us test and examine all our ways,
and return to the Lord;
let us lift up our hearts and not our hands alone
unto the lord who is in heaven.
Chorus

The world stands in need of liberation, my Lord,
It still has to feel your power.
The blind and the deaf, the dumb and the maimed,
All need to feel your healing touch.
The world stands in need of liberation my Lord,
It still has to learn to love.

There are those who have eyes but refuse to see
The inhumanity around.
There are those who have ears but refuse to hear
The cries of those in agony.

There are those who have mouths but refuse to speak
Against the injustice done to some.
There are those who have hands
But refuse to reach them out in love and charity.

There are those who have talents they do not use
To build a true community.
And we know that we all have the talent to love
But leave it buried in ourselves.

There are numerous strings in your lute,
Let me add my own among them.

Then when you smite your chords
My heart will break its silence
And my life will be one with your song.

Amidst your numberless stars
Let me place my own little lamp.

In the dance of your festival of lights
My heart will throb
And my life will be one with your smile.

Therefore the redeemed
Of the Lord shall return,
And come with singing unto Zion;
And everlasting joy shall be upon their head (x2)

They shall obtain gladness and joy;
And sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

Therefore we, before him bending,
This great Sacrament revere;
Types and shadows have their ending,
For the newer rite is here;
Faith, our outward sense befriending,
Makes our inward vision clear.

Glory let us give, and blessing
To the Father and the Son,
Honour, might and praise addressing,
While eternal ages run;
Ever too his love confessing,
who, from Both, with Both is One.
Amen.

These forty days O Lord we spend
In fast and prayer with You;
Correct our faults and curb our pride,
Our minds and heart renew.

This time of grace employ,
Prepare your hearts with joy,
To celebrate the Paschal feast.

Our Lenten gift we bring to you:
A humbled contrite heart
O teach us in this world to live
As people set apart.

May we each day deny ourselves
To raise our minds to you;
And show to those who are in need,
Your goodness and your love.

You help us grow in holiness
And from our sins to rise.
Lord, through Your passion and Your death,
May Easter be our prize.

This is my commandment:
Love one another as I have loved you. (x2)
Charity is kind, feels no envy.
Charity bears up to the end.
Charity is meek, seeking not its own.
Charity has faith to the end.

Charity is mild, thinks no evil.
Charity can hope to the end.
Charity is just, finding joy in truth,
Charity is patient to the end.

Charity is never conceited.
Charity brings joy to the end,
Charity is never resentful,
Charity makes peace to the end.

I may speak in tongues, be a prophet
Understand every mystery.
Even though my faith may move mountains
With no love, I'm nothing at all.

I may give away my possessions,
Even give my body to be burnt.
If I have no love, I'm no better.
For of all the greatest is love.

This is my prayer to thee, my Lord
strike, strike at the root of penury in my heart.

Give me the strength lightly to bear
My joys and sorrows.

Give me the strength to make my love
Fruitful in service.

Give me the strength never to disown the poor
Or bend my knees before insolent might.

Give me the strength to raise my mind high
Above daily trifles.

And give me the strength to surrender my strength
To thy will with love.

This is my will, my one command,
That love should dwell among you all.
This is my will, that you should love
As I have shown that I love you.

No greater love can any have
Than that one die to save his friends.
You are my friends if you obey
What I command that you should do.

I call you now no longer slaves;
No slave knows all the master does.
I call you friends, for all I hear
My Father say, you hear from me.

You chose not me, but I chose you,
That you should go and bear much fruit.
I chose you out that you in me
Should bear much fruit that will abide.

All that you ask my Father dear
For my name's sake you shall receive.
This is my will, my one command,
That love should dwell in each, in all.

Chorus
Alleluia, Alleluia.
Alleluia, Alleluia.

This is the day that the lord has made let us rejoice, be glad in it.
Jesus will never die again, death has no power over him.

This is the day which the Lord has made,
Let us be glad and rejoice:
He is the maker of heaven and earth,
Praise him with heart and with voice.

Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia.

This is the day which the Lord has made,
Sing of his bounty and love;
Thank him this day for his wonderful gifts,
Poured out on us from above.

This is the day which the Lord has made,
Cry out in praise of his name;
We have assembled to ponder his word,
May we his message proclaim.

This is the day which the Lord has made,
Rising, he conquered all strife;
Having attended his banquet of love,
Rise in the newness of life.

This is the day, this is the day.
That the Lord has made, that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice,
And be glad in it, and be glad in it.
This is the day that the Lord has made.
We will rejoice and be glad in it.
This is the day, this is the day
That the Lord has made.

We are the sons, we are the sons,
Of the living God, of the living God.
We will rejoice, we will rejoice,
And be glad in Him, and be glad in Him.
We are the sons of the living God.
We will rejoice and be glad in Him.
We are the sons, we are the sons
Of the living God.

This world you have made is a beautiful place,
It tells the power of your love,
We rejoice in the beauty of your world,
From the seas to the heavens above!

The morning whispers of purity,
The evening of your peace,
The thunder booms your exuberance,
And the awesome power you release.
Chorus

The tenderness of the new born child.
The gentleness of the rains,
Simplicity in a single cell,
Complexities in a brain.
Chorus

Your stillness rests in a silent pool
infinity drifts in space ,
your grandeur straddles the mountain tops
and we see your face in each face.
Chorus

Those who weep as they sow,
Will rejoice at the harvest.
Give your thanks to the Lord
Who brings joy out of sorrow.
He turns sorrow into joy.

All your building is vain unless God is the builder,
All your watching is vain unless God is the watchman.

You may rise before dawn, seek your bed after nightfall,
And yet labour in vain, for the Lord gives the increase.

In his love God makes rich by his present of children,
Who, like arrows in flight, will be swift to protect you.

What a blessing God gives in this quiver of arrows,
When the enemy stands in the gate of the city.

Chorus:
Though the mountains may fall and the hills turn to dust,
yet the love of the Lord will stand
as a shelter for all who will call on His name.
Sing the praise and the glory of God.

Could the Lord ever leave you?
Could the Lord forget His love?
Though a mother forsake her child,
He will not abandon you
Chorus

Should you turn and forsake Him,
He will gently call your name.
Should you wander away from Him,
He will always take you back.
Chorus

Go to Him when you're weary,
He will give you eagle's wings.
You will run never tire,
For your God will be your strength.
Chorus

As he swore to your Fathers,
when the flood destroyed the land.
He will never forsake you,
He will swear to you again.
Chorus

Chorus
Thy loving kindness Is better than life
My lips shall praise thee Thus will I bless thee
I lift my hands up unto thy name. (x2)

Safe in Thy Shadow I will rejoice (x2)
Chorus

The skies are telling the glory of god (x2)
Chorus

Thy word is spoken, thy message is heard (x2)
Chorus

I will recount, Lord, Thy wonderful deeds (x2)
Chorus

Chorus
Till the end of my days, O Lord,
I Will Bless Your name, Sing Your praise,
Give You Thanks, all my days

You have made me little less than a God,
And have lavished my heart with your love.
With dignity and honour You’ve clothed me,
given me rule over all.
Chorus

You have blessed me with good things and plenty,
and surrounded my table with friends.
Their love and their laughter enrich me;
together we sing Your praise. .
Chorus

Your sun and Your moon give me light,
And Your stars show the way through the night.
Your rivers and streams have refreshed me. I will sing
Your praise.
Chorus

How great is Your love, O Father,
That You sent us Your Savior Son. His death and His
rising will heal us, and draw us all unto You. .
Chorus

Time is too short, even though we have forever
To sing our praises to the King of kings.

We look at the earth and it speaks your name.
We look to the hills and they sing your praise.
We look to the stars and they shout with joy:
"He is Lord, Lord of all creation".

We look to the cross and it tells your fame,
Death and resurrection we proclaim;
At the end of time you will come again
As the Lord, Lord of our salvation.

Listen to the Word, it will give you light
Gather round the board, eat the bread of life
Be like Jesus Christ who a slave became
But was made Lord of every nation.

To follow the Lord and find freedom,
To love as he loved and bring peace,
To spend our lifetime for his kingdom,
To want it to grow and increase.

To search for the truth never ceasing.
To look for a star in the night.
To knock at the door never tiring.
To wait eagerly for his light.

To walk hand in hand with each other,
To share with the burdened their pain,
To comfort the people who suffer,
To help those in need for no gain.

To sense how oppressed are the poorest,
To struggle for justice and right,
To stand for the truth and be honest.
To die to oneself in the fight.

To God in gladness sing, How great his name.
Give thanks to him for his marvellous deeds.
Alleluia Alleluia.

He came among his people, he dwelt among the poor,
He chose of all the weakest, the humblest to be friends.

Like rain that falls from heaven and makes the earth bring forth,
His word our hearts refreshes, his law our life transforms.

No longer are we servants, his friends each one he calls,
He brings us to his table to share the bread and wine.

The light that shines in darkness, the victory over death,
He enters into glory, like him we too shall arise.

The flame of love his Spirit, the universe pervades,
Through him a new creation, begins and never ends.
